THE REVIEW

Hello readers the world! fanatic people of the paranormal and kittens world, I am very happy because I have them very good news if you're a fan of Mary Hades Sarah Dalton recently (definitely very recently) came out its sequel: Possess. And I had the fortunate pleasure to read (thank you Mrs Dalton!) And definitely not the disappoint this book.

Mary Hades returned and she has more to tell. Mary Hades definitely evolved and had to do it at one point and is something rewarding for the reader, the story can read it in a day or two depending on your time or your love of reading. And even more your taste for horror stories and girls who have something that draws the reader for his ligament to the paranormal world.

And just as the content evolves, the cover gives a different twist, is more autumnal, yet warm and has a duality, and is that with Mary anything can happen. This book is YA and also adults alike can enjoy, so if you have some content of horror and moments that will be able to get you more of a scare.

Mary can not be separated from all the paranormal world, but had to move, seek help is impossible and that is demonstrated in this book. We have another visual panorama Ravenswood, the new place where Mary and her family will live, but which lamentamblemente not be a place in harmony, this place has a history, a dark story behind, and in which Mary and also (yes, fans! !) Lacey will look involved.

This book has more darkness, but is somewhat more mature see Mary slowly taking the path of his unusual situation, we also see an evolution in connection with his family, I will not reveal many details, but I find an important point and that is helping a lot to the development of natural history.
Not neglects the aside the humor funny or sarcastic way at some points, I mean are teenagers! and it is focused on they. Just as the daily things we look at that age. But linking all these, with a sinister story that makes you excite (ok paranormal fans are so) or definitely want to turn on a light, maybe have the company of your cat or any person living beside you!

We have new characters who each have a background behind, which can sometimes make you doubt or want to get more out of the situation, and it is in these that bears the thrust of evolution to Mary. And each can be any of your favorites. I say also some beings call your attention for their mental psychology;)

While it is more a bit more mature, I love, that ligation of stories is good because you can get more threads of it and get a way for more stories, while it may fall into the pit of cliches, do not! The author take care of the details and weaves everyday moments, and stories of places where he could see some paranormal phenomenon happened.

Take good advantage of it, and your dark heart and fan can thank you, I definitely recommend it and you definitely must keep the eye pending  to these little stories, do not let it pass. Add at your TBR!

Movie Time: The Red Shoes |OHtB! Horror October |

hollowfest

Hi !! I hope are preparing Halloween! for now I am ... studying ... ha ha ha, but I found some time to watch horror movies, listen to music somewhat macabre and discover that sometimes love can cause fear if you are heading in vain things or you can go crazy and lose the mind. That's why these three post goes dedicated to it, love when it becomes supernatural, is altered and hopelessly becomes a nightmare.

I started with a movie, I sincerely call attention to the title more than anything, as it is one of my favorite stories as far to fairytale stories are concerned, The Red Shoes.

The-Red-Shoes

Although apparently inspired by the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, "The Red Shoes" is clearly an adaptation rather strange shaped Korean horror film that I found wandering in a system of rents movies online.

Actually in this film, which was not what gave me more terror, the fact that someone picked up a pair of shoes on the street ... (or subway, trash, etc) or the girl who went out and made up a wtf face ... or the fact that the film had good parts and the rest was something surreal that did not fit, but good synopsis is as follows:

Located in Seoul, the film follows Sun Jae, who, after catching her husband with another woman, she  moves with her young daughter, Tae Soo to  a decrepit old apartment building. Struggling to settle in this new life, Sun Jae finds a strange pair of red shoes  on the subway, and decides to take them home. Unfortunately, the shoes are being cursed, and has a sinister power over all who come in contact with them, leading to deaths and expected disasters. Finally, Tae Soo's life hanging in the balance, Sun Jae and interior designer new boyfriend Cheol (Kim Sung Soo) desperately try to unravel the mystery of the shoes before it's too late.

theredshoes1

I'll be honest, I do not think the tv screen or computer were poorly, or were they my eyes? I do not think so, but the whole movie, I saw those shoes in pink color ... if someone shoe expert tells me if that is a red, I would appreciate it ... because I would have preferred a deep red.

Following the film, there are interesting parts, very gore parts, creepy , there was a scene that I like, is that the protagonist trying to find the answer to the origin of evil of such shoes, starts falling snow blood , beautiful scene that could inspire more movies, and other scene is the story behind the shoes, envy.

Jealousy, betrayal and naivety of love surrounding this story, even though there are parts that made you to give unnecessary returns, if would be a remake , would be great and establishing a good foundation in history could take a great potential for terror. In addition to the story is also the story of Sun Jae and it's not just the fact that you find the damn shoes and she is a hopeless addicted to shoes (She have them in a glass case, each in their space), she also has a dark secret and her daughter could uncover the pandora box.

The interesting point is that a simple pair of shoes attached to an innocent love would lead to the envy of others, betrayal and unexpected end to a curse, cruel, and makes something so pure becomes so dark, is something very creepy. When someone dies tragically and joins a curse based on an object, they are very intense emotions and most of all are based on something broke the hearts of those persons or mental judgment of them, and something that we have seen in more movies and maybe in some other legend or horror story around us.

Love in this film may become dark, you get to take you to madness and want to wipe out anyone who hurts you reaching countless events that never stop, and this requires only an object of greed in way to achieve this.

RedShoesPic3

If you're a fan of heart rate Asian horror films, this you liked, if you're not a fan but would like to see it I can say that in another part worth and more than the occasional scare might get you, but if you're a fan shoes, I guarantee you will learn a valuable lesson:

Never take a pair of shoes without asking permission before taking them.

REDSHOES2005

After much debate I think the fact that the child want those shoes and transformed into that was what scared me more ...

P, S: be sure that your red shoes ARE NOT cursed, or you could dance to death.

If you know of a horror story based on this story send me an message ;)

THE REVIEW

Hello :D !!!! Today  in #OtBHorrorOctober is the review of a book, Mary Hades by Sarah Dalton. This book I had it in my ARCs for review for September but I did not have time for personal reasons, but this time I chose to do it and goes very in keeping with the theme I'm driving with the Horror October. So without further let's start:

Mary Hades is one of those YA books that the dark part of me wants to read (the dark cat inside of me that loves this kind of books said: I want it!), This book called my attention with his description, and to some extent in a small part it make me remind Alice Madness Returns (yes, the game. Suitable for play at this time). Not forgetting to that the cover remember me another book that is among my favorites.

For a YA book, I think this very well focused, but I make the suggestion to read My Daylight Monsters, which is a prequel to this book (which is actually very good book) to not feel that in some parts is something lost or know of the odd data. It is a book that surprises with its character somewhat, since they are teenagers! I mean they haven't to be perfect and displayed as such and our story begins when the protagonist, María Hades, travels on vacation with their parents to a small town Nettleby for a little rest and relaxation after their ordeal in the Psychiatric Hospital,  she sees dead people and that can cause a big problem for all those around her, but that's inevitable for her and now something new to happen it will give us a tour of a new mystery, love, delusion and a walk of terror.

It is one of those books that have their own voice, but maybe it's something creepy !!! it is also something subtle for someone who wants to approach this type of reading, because it has a mixture of humor that helps go down to a level of conford to start again with this voice that makes us feel on a roller coaster. The characters are divine can have your favorite immediately, I love Mary, but also this Lacey, who wish a ghost friend that raise the hand \ O! (If you want to read why Lacey is a ghost, read My Daylight Monsters) also have the love interest (yes, although we are in terror, the love is in the air), Seth and a range over characters that could make your more days in scary atmosphere.

While there are parts that I had maybe one up and down, I loved the book, has a supernatural atmosphere which easily can imagine and is released into your mind, you have that kind of heroine to the author can bring him endless threads and you can mold as she wants, it shows your taste for this kind of story and can easily get into your dark  heart.

Actually if you look for a book for Halloween these days, read this series of Mary Hades, suitable for almost everyone;).

My Stars 4

If you read it, tell me what do you think? and if not, you expect!

Enjoys Horror October  !!

:D

My cheeseburger literary |Little Things Alice|

littlethings

Hello hello! How are you?

wriAfter a long time finally back with Little things Alice

in the company of a book-tag that I read a while, I seem very original and

it is in the form of hamburger ha ha! (The reason for the title of this post).

This literary book-tag consists of choosing a book of all your bookshelf for each ingredient of our burger,

following which suggest us.

So, want to see as became my burger? Will I add some fries and a soda?

Hope you like it  =P and Let's Go!

BOTTOM BREAD:

First book in a series  that you love.

INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE by Anne Rice

This is where I started my love for vampires! A know them by Stoker, but love them by Anne Rice, and from here, I start seeing different stories about them. In this particular book I admit, I was in love with Louis, Lestat called my attention and I wanted to be like Claudia, ha ha that was a long time ago, but this book is one of my favorites. It is a world that is definitely well created  and founded, and that certainly is a reference to any subject of vampires, is a classic of this era.

***

MEAT:

Book with 400 pages or more that you liked.

LA EDAD DE LA PUNZADA by Xavier Velasco

The inner core of any burger! This book is part of my inner core, is an author of my country (Mexico), and that I met through my mother (it's one of his favorite authors) As you can see the title is in Spanish so, one meaning of the title and the book would be something like: "A story of adolescence not unlike of many others, that recalls a time where everything seems to be going downhill and where laughter is nothing more than a tool for survival" For my sample that surreal side of my country (laughter and sadness go hand in hand), in particular how to live in adolescence and I think I like the accent or the author's voice and is that the sound is familiar to me, "singing" ,like  say the foreigners that we have  the people who live in the Mexico City.

***

CHEESE:

Book with 300 pages or less that you've read and enjoyed.

THE DEVIL'S TATTOO by Nicole  R. Taylor

This book is one of the must-haves in my personal bookshelf, and that's why I put it here, for me on a burger should not miss the cheese! (is one of my favorite ingredients :)) When I read this book really enjoy it and became one of my favorites because it mixes things I like: music and reading. What can I say? It was the beginning of that I started to love these stories, is part special of blog and is present in me.

***

LETTUCE:

Book with 200 pages or less that you have not read but you want to do it.

NIGHT OF CAKE & PUPPETS by Laini Taylor

The book is really small, I have it on my list of want to read it, and the funny thing is, I haven't been unable read it yet!
As this is possible, definitely I don't know! but I hope to read it soon.. P.S; I'm TEAM ZUZANA

***

TOMATO:

Book with 200-400 pages that you love or hate.

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer by Patrick Süskind

Love this book when I read it, is one of those books that you know the answer immediately, and in my case it was: Love.

The murderer has only one feature that makes it special; his sense of smell and therefore the key to creating any essence,

even invent your own. One of my favorite stories.

***

SAUCE:

Book that you thought you would not like it and you ended up hating or loving.

CRIME AND  PUNISHMENT  by F.  Dostoevsky

This is the kind of book that stays in my literary limbo, is not going to like me, but is something that ultimately makes me who I like either side ends up hating the fact that at the beginning of the book it was heavy and I almost looked halfway interesting. So this question of the sauces, if you made much of a bad thing falls apart and if not add some much feel that I miss. It is the limbo, neither good nor bad.

***

BREAD TOP:

Last book o

f a saga that you are afraid.

BREAKING DAWN -Twilight -  Stephenie Meyer

Uhh, Why I put here??? Afraid  to this book? '?? uh nope, was not afraid, on the contrary it was the saga that I liked at the time (and yes, I admit that I like it, but perhaps more relaxed with ah yes, I read it and I liked it) so why here?? ? I think that I was a little afraid for the fact as people gave it the books BOOM sagas for movies, and the fact that ultimately refused the fact that they liked or vandalizing a story and began the intense love u intense to the book series hate, I understand that there are things that divide (what happened to this saga, or you like or hate) but do not forget that there for every taste!

***

SODA:

Find a book for each of your initials.

M - Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert

A - Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake

R - Red & Wolfe by Ella James

bovarytag-horz

Somewhat logical description of what I like to read, I go from the classics, go through the horror, mystery, fantasy and end up with something sexy, hot. I can be a somewhat shy girl (ok, one day I'll do this with my personality), somewhat mysterious with a touch of fantasy and perhaps is coming out a side that really likes the Hot side of life.

***

FRIES:

Count your age along the your bookshelf. What book comes out?

20+ UNINTENDED by Amity Cross.

I think this if it goes according this snap, is hot and addictive like the fries because you started with the first book,

ended up with the third book and you expect to have more books of this serie.

Also because I started reading it almost exact to the age that I have,

so it's Fucking Fabulous Rock!

***

I hope you enjoy this my first Book-tag, hope to write or do another soon!

and tell me, What  books would have in their Cheeseburgers Literary? ;)

Little Things Alice, What happened in February?

littlethings

Holaa (Hi!!!):

What happened in February? Pff ... I think many things. But I will write the most important for not to bore you with my bhla bhla blaa ... ha ha, I hope this month,  you have been very well  and  with much love, iced tea and pizza.

February was filled of colors, hearts on every corner, lots of hugs, sunny days and couples everywhere, also friends enjoying those little magical moments, or families, love and friendship were present. Cats! Yes, this month also cats were recorded in my February list and for good cause, a crazy cat girl? uhm maybe. And the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms, came to my country! Well, a mini Cersei Lannister is now somewhere in my room.

svalentine

Lets start with the February 14, Valentine's Day, a Friday full of hearts? Well in my blog I   had the opportunity to present the second part of Stark Novel, if you not have read it  click HERE! I enjoyed this series of two books, the second I read for review and then did a marathon reading for that week undoubtedly one of the series that is my favorite. Highly recommended for those romantic dates. In life, a lot of red, donuts and games :) but great. Valentine's Day with zombie love of Resident Evil 6, accompanied donut with raspberry jelly and a special awesome!

Cats, cats and more cats!! In my country we have what is called Gato Fest (Cat Fest) is a pre-Cat Day Festival, andIMG_20140216_164601_20140225123827654 yes, it is the celebration of cats, their owners, cat lovers and cats that need more help. Your goal is to sell things for cats, or objects with a particular sign on cats and get  help in kind for kittens from shelters, as well as promoting its adoption.

It was my first year so I take my little donation of  bags of kibble, and I was looking things for my cat, a bed and toys, and for me the official event T-shirt and a small purse. Why is it important to me? It's Personal, well ,my cat is adopted, born in the street, it became an orphan but a week of his birth he came to my house, now is a whole feline believed  and yeah too pampered. Any animal deserves respect, love and a chance of a decent life. If you have events like this in your country,  support him, something small makes a difference. By the way ... my purse became his new pillow for your bed, he was sniffing it, he played with him and took him with his snout, so will I need a new one.

Cat's Day = One of my favorites animals since I can remember, an animal that divides the opinions of both humans since ancient time. The other animal of my choice: birds

The objects and costume Stark family, the Lannister family, the Tyrell familiy, Daenerys Targaryen and your dragon eggs and the coveted Iron Throne, sounds good, not? Game of Thrones The Exhibit came to my country for a short visit of 5 days for the fans could to see the work behind this series. It was a great experience!

IMG_20140218_113357_20140225154248330

The event was free, but made a record to keep track of visits and that could have an enjoyable visit. I congratulate the team and HBO Latino for choosing place very well.

The exhibition, WAO! I was very impressed with the costume details, very well maintained, the dresses were my favorites, along with  rose of the Tyrell family, also with the costume of Tyron and the dresses of Daenerys Targaryen and your dragon eggs.

There was a small space that was interactive multimedia simulation by scaling The Wall, maybe in this part all the floor literally shook me. And what everyone wondered the Iron Throne?

Yep, there it was, beautiful and elegant, well I must say I admire the details, very detailed work is counting than the fact that said his budget was low for the completion of the program. They achieved great expectations.

1392757664887_20140225123958665I got my picture in the Iron throne (this in my Facebook,I hope to download soon) and also a small gift, a mini Cersei Lannister!
In the line to enter was made a little contest with a trivia question and thanks to Ygritte,in a privileged space of my room this Cersei Lannister.

February has not ended, though perhaps forward a bit the Little Things Alice, we still have a few days to enjoy. March is arriving a little crazy or so I think.

And in you think of February?
