Perfectly Broken

by Prescott Lane

Publication date: March 2014
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Synopsis:

PerfectlyBroken

Even after years of trauma therapy, Peyton still believes she’s broken.

She has little desire to date or show off her natural beauty, content simply to hang out

with her best friends and run her pie shop in New Orleans.  But her world turns upside-down when a handsome architect and self-confessed player shows up in her shop and thinks she’s perfect, much more than the usual hook-up.  While Peyton does her best to resist his charms, believing she could never be enough for him, she can’t deny the obvious heat between them.

With Reed determined to have her, Peyton must decide whether to continue to hide behind her apron and baggy clothes or take a chance and share her scars with Reed, a man with a playboy reputation and scars of his own — a dark past he can’t possibly share with Peyton, not after learning the horrors she’s endured.  But if they can find a way to trust each other, and themselves, they just might be able to heal, to save each other, to live perfectly broken together.

THE REVIEW

When I saw the title of the book really I caught my attention, and the synopsis left me with a touch of curiosity, so when I saw the title on a tour, simply do not hesitate and I took a ticket to read the story of Peyton.

I do not regret taking this reading, at first I maybe I take a bit to adapt me to the format but after an adjustment to take the pace of the story and flowed in a delicate way and simultaneously hard.

As a strong theme you can wrap it in a synchronized harmony of sweetness and bitterness, definitely, this is what happens in the book. Hope, desire, self-exploration and overcome difficulties, goes hand in hand, both in principle for yourself and later the people who love you, to reinforce,

Peyton is broken inside and their defense mechanism is to be hidden, not to attract attention, and attend  your business despite the therapy she wears, his demons are still there, inside his soul She is strong and definitely something unexpected could will activate the desire get  outside and show your beauty.

Reed, our other protagonist, who will help Payton to get that inner and outer beauty that is hidden, and not only that, Payton take out the shadows hanging over him.Shadows that could cause  doubt any girl, thanks to the fame he possesses. The road will not be easy, someone broken looking believing in someone else and other trying to show the best of yourself to others, both with a past to face.

I like, recommend it to all those girls (or guys) who for various reasons have felt broken inside, it is a novel that handles in various types of feelings the evolution of the characters. And it blends well with the supporting cast, which also have a defined character, helping to emphasize to our protagonists,

The combination of rhythms, feelings, characters, themes that was treated and the handling slower but is  than you also enjoy a story of love, is what I liked most. Highlight the story and depth of the straightforward. Using a rich blend of story.

  1. Wow this sounds like such a moving story and an inspiring one, too! I also love how well developed the characters all seem even with the side cast. Lovely review, Alice!
